As soon as I posted this I mastered the google search and found exactly what I was looking for...

I've started to get into quadcopters and I want to do a DIY project. I do not want to buy a pre-built flight controller(I want to install the sensors on the arduino myself), the issue I'm having is that I can't find anything that says that any of the common flight control software would work on...
