    USB Charge cords

I don't believe the Syma X1 charge cord is any different than the X5 cord as after a couple uses the X5 cord went from 4.10 volt to 4.35 volt termination. In the garbage this one went. Some had commented that the stock X1 battery had a voltage termination built into the connector but I don't...

    2 vs. 3 blade rotors

I think the tri blades just sound different , which makes them sound like their turning a higher rpm. These cheap Chinese ones are very generic compared to what your probably running.

    Opinions on quadcopters

I've been into RC since 1988 , mostly racing dirt and carpet oval. What I've found that I really like is the huge challenge of hand / eye coordination that it takes to fly a quad vs. to drive an RC car. Must be the left / rt. thing or maybe it's just me getting older , ha ha.

    2 vs. 3 blade rotors

I dumb question about 2 vs. 3 blade rotors. It seems like the far majority of quads are using a 2 blade rotor. I'm curious about the pro's and con's of a 2 vs. 3. I picked up some 3 blade rotors for my Syma X5 " mostly because they were $2.50 set " and they seem ok . Their slightly smaller in...

Fix for unplugging a Syma X5 battery

I've seen and I'm sure a lot of you have , that its a struggle to get the battery unplugged from the Syma X5 Quadcopter socket. Most of the time you feel like your going to pull the wires out of the plug. The fix I've found is to unscrew and remove the top cover of the X5 and to slide out the...

    quadcolter battery modification

Ha Ha Ha ,,,,,,,,,You'd have to ask Gagawy who started the thread. Maybe a quad with a machine gun ??? But a comment in regards to the thread topic is that just because a battery may have a mah rating of over 1000 doesn't mean it will have any power. Those phone style batteries couldn't power...

    syma flight time

What a difference in power in running the nanotech 750 vs. a stk 500 ! I've been getting another X5c ready for my nephew and didn't realize how much better the power is untill after running a stock set up.

    USB Charge cords

I don't use one myself . I was just trying to get something easy for my 12 year old nephew to use. I ordered a couple 110v / 1S chargers that should be a little better. All these darn toy options are made in China . :) An $80 lipo charger is usually not user friendly for a total novice.

    USB Charge cords

The Syma X5 usb charge cord " that I checked " stops at 4.10 volts. I'm sure they all vary some. My bench chargers are set to shut off at 4.20 volts at the battery.

    Good quality battery connectors

Do most high end quads run a 5 cell battery ? That's some incredible voltage.

    Good quality battery connectors

I was just using the basic JST connector as an example . If you guys are using a true 60-70 amp connector , thats awesome. We used Sermos / Power Pole and Deans when we were racing round cell RC cars / trucks which were rated for 30-40 amps. The die hard racers all soldered there batteries in ...

    Good quality battery connectors

Just a quick test I did to see how efficient a JST connector is. This test was done at a very modest 4 amp load. The pack used was a Nanotech 750mah 1S battery. I tested it first thru the stock JST connector and then with the connector cut off and alligator clips for load and small voltage...

    Radio Upgrade

Will that radio sync up with the stock Syma X5 reciever ? Most of my experience is with with Futaba 3PK pistol radios where 200+ models could in theory work on the 2.4ghz band width. I thought some one posted about a spectrum or WL toys premium radio that would work. ???

    syma flight time

I'd take two stock batteries and wire them in parallel. You'd double your run time and power ! :) I've been running the 750 nanotech and by the time it's run out , I'm done so I just leave it in the quad and use the extra lead to charge it.

    Radio Upgrade

What radio would anyone recommend for an upgrade over the stock Syma X5 system ? Whats the deal with syncing the radios ? I thought 2.4 looked for an open frequency but maybe I'm wrong. Thanks

    USB Charge cords

I know most of us use a better then supplied with charger than a USB charge cord but I was going over some batteries for my nephew today and trying to keep it simple for a twelve year old. I knew that USB charge cords were on the high side for voltage termination but was surprised to see the...

    quadcolter battery modification

There's these 700's also but in my opinion their stupid expensive. http://www.amazon.com/Dromida-LiPo-700mAh-Ominus-Quadcopter/dp/B00NVSTOSM/ref=pd_sim_t_6?ie=UTF8&refRID=1JAM3QVZTX251ZP23AAC#customerReviews

    quadcolter battery modification

Another one to consider is this nano tech battery,, some mods would be required to fit the X5 but at least it's much thinner. https://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=59076

    quadcolter battery modification

I understand ,,, this was just a generic lipo test on a few misc cells. Lipo's usually have a higher amperage ability. NOTE :::: THE 600 MAH NANOTECH IS NOT RECOMENDED FOR THE SYMA X5 AS IT REQUIRES EXTENSIVE MODIFICATIONS TO THE QUAD TO FIT AS ITS A MUCH LONGER BATTERY
