I won't dispute that lipo is the far superior amperage battery but lithium-ions do work
as my son's giant Syma X6 came with them.
I don't know if the Turnigy nanotech 750 will fit your quad but it's one heck of a cell.
I got two today and the voltage and run time are great. I'd guess an easy 10...
I'm testing some 750's as we speak. The stock connector is Syma specific.
Many convert it over to a std. JST connector which most aftermarket
batteries have. I'm post the 750 mah tests results.
I've seen that one also and wondered about the true compatibility of that antenna.
What I've done to ours is to make sure the stk antenna wire is pointed up " as one was
lying flat against the circuit board " and solder on a 30mm wire to extend the antenna.
This brings the antenna up into the...
Where do you find parts for the black / red version ?
I don't NEED any yet but wanted to keep a couple things on hand.
I didn't think they were limited production when we bought the black ones but
the supplier on Amazon says their no longer available.
I realize this is way over thinking and the far majority should just stay with the stock batteries
and have fun.
I just can't leave things alone and have to re-engineer the system , for better or worse.
We have three between all relatives and I han't had a single problem.
And yes , these have had many a crashes.
I'm sure many serious flyers hate the guards but I think their great.
We just ordered another one for our nephew as a Brand X model we got him for Christmas
was a real disapointment and...
A couple advantages to the Nanotech batteries is that they can very easily accept a 2C charge rate.
I cycled a 600 mah cell at a 1.2 amp charge rate and everything increased.
The capacity went up slightly , but the voltage under a load was drastic.
The cell took 225 sec. at 3A to hit 3.7 volts ...
I rec'd a sample battery from Slicktron in Houston TX today and here's a quick story about upgraded batteries.
It's labeled 650 mah and is 9.5 mm thick, the same thickness as a 750.
The battery discharged at only 580 mah and the voltage hit 3.7 volts in just over 3 min. / 180 sec. @ a 3 amp...
I'm surprised their getting less than 10 min. of flight time. ?
It would be interesting to see how the actual mah cycles out.
I'd guess around 700 , which is still a respectable 30% increase
in flight time...
Check this one out . I havn't double checked the dimensions yet.
