    FAA may impose new laws

I heard on the radio today that FAA is quite concerned about the huge popularity of drones / quads. They claim there are 10,000 more in the sky today vs. a week ago. They mentioned about pilots seeing many of them when landing or during take off.

    RFT quads and quality

Great Idea on the phone number !! If your battery takes an hour to charge , then it's only receiving 500 milliamps / 1/2 amp charge rate. You'd never want to charge a 500mah cell at 3 amps as that is a 6C charge which will kill these small batteries. 1C is 1/2 amp , 2C is 1 amp . Thats the...

    battery help?

Even the Nano-tech 600's, which are longer stick style and don't fit with out a lot of internal modifications only cycle out at 550-560 mah. The Syma 500 mah battery test out at 480-490 mah , which is darn good for a stock battery. Is it worth all the work and expense for only 10% more run...

    RFT quads and quality

We have a Syma X5C-1 on order as my son " in college" thought he wanted to ad a camera to his and I wasn't going to pay $20 + for just a camera when I can buy another complete unit for $55 shipped. Not exactly sure what we'll do with it but in this sport you can't have enough toys :) :) I also...

    RFT quads and quality

I guess it's a crap shoot when it comes to " toy" quads. The Syma X5 seems to be one of the better , more durable ones.

Difference between Syma X5C and X5C-1 upgrade

First , the Syma X5 is a great beginner / learning toy quad. It's very controllable and your mom could fly it. The C means it comes with a camera. I chose to not get the camera as I knew I'd be crashing it during the learning curve. The dash 1 upgrade is a circuit board upgrade where the quad...

    Orientation ??

A dumb newbie question but when you see these people fly on you-tube and the quad is 100's of ft. away ,, how do you know what is front / back / left/ right ?? I'd guess the wrong choice and I'd watch my quad sail away over the tree tops. I painted the front protectors of my X5 orange so that...

    Newbie advice

Thats a very nice quad you ordered . I'm still a novice in this field but I'd suggest to purchase or borrow a Syma X5 to learn on first. They fly really easy and only cost $50. You can practice inside this time of year and be ready to go outside with your other one in the spring.

    battery help?

These are 520 mah cells , not even close to 25C and have far less voltage under a load than the original Syma battery. Not trying to be a wise asss , these are just the facts of marketing numbers.

    battery help?

Buy more of the stock Syma 500 mah batteries !! I've purchased and tested " on a $400 Competition Electronics battery tester " many a 600/650/680 mah "labeled" battery and they were all worse. The skinny 600 Tigers that some run are also far worse than stock. At a light 3 amp load , the voltage...

    RFT quads and quality

First I'm a newbie on here and appologize for asking dumb questions. We've been Syma fans ever since purchasing a couple S-107g helicopters. Very nice little units for the money. But in the quad market , I'm still not very impressed with the quality. The Syma X5 , I will say , so far seems to...

    Syma X6 with copter remote

We bought our son a Syma X6 for Christmas and it simply will not fly. Very odd as one motor won't run when powered up but not always the same motor. The remote also has a picture of a helicopter on the lcd screen. We have a couple Syma X5's and I tryed to sync those radios but did nothing. I...
