Let me know your opinions. Hopefully I didn’t make the wrong decision on parts!

Thank you sir!

Someone outside of this forum mentioned to me that the ESC's may not work for a multirotor. He didn't specify why, but can anyone give me their opinion if the Mantis ESC's I chose will work for a quadcopter setup?

Hi mate like MM said ecalc does that just go for a battery just under what your going to use , did you order the flash tool for the kk ,heat shrink , blue lock tight
If she flys good on that size prop which it should , change them for carbon fibre as soon as you can the ones you have chip very easy and can snap you need to keep checking the under side of the props where it meets its hub for stress fractures these will show up as a white mark
The ESC i think will be ok they are for planes but this normally means they have different options in the set up like brakes ,soft start, etc , the code on the chip set is not multirotor, but that coding has only just started we had multirotors on normal ESCs for a long time now , but it like a selling word ( multirotor optimised ) yes are better but the normal esc did ok ,but you must set them up all the same , i would set up each one direct on receiver first inc throttle calibration then fit them on quad , there is a lot of changes that can be made inc motor timing so be careful you get them right

UPDATE on ESC
Hi mate i just had another look at the esc ,all the default setting are ok as they are so just do throttle calibration , that should be all you need to do
They are a re-branded Hobby king 35amp blue series

Holtneil - Dang! I forgot to purchase the flash tool for the KK board. I will make a quick order right now. I already have heat shrink, blue lock tight, and battery straps at home.

I ordered some carbon fiber props last night!

I did an instant order last night when I heard that my ESC's may not work. I did that because the holiday is coming up and I wanted to start the build and was worried if delivery was going to be delayed.

OMG mate thats spot on i just spent 15 mins checking out the other ESC s lol they are hobby king blue series , but the simonk code will make all the difference watch this video dont worry about make of the esc its the simonk code that it is showing you

Sounds good! I really appreciate your information. This forum has been very helpful, especially for newbies like me. Lol.

So would you keep the new ESC's that I just re-ordered since it has the stable SimonK firmware?

YES they are a good ESC will work well , just calibrate throttle ,now you have these do all 4 at once through the KK board , can you get a flash lead for the kk it will fly loads better and will reduce the chance of a crash due to firmware

I am in the process of building my A450 and I already mounted my KK2 board to the platform with super strong double sided foam tape. I can't seem to remove the board since it is stuck on there pretty dang good. Is there a second method to hook up my voltage alarm rather than removing my board and soldering wires to the bottom of my KK2?

Edit: Also, has anyone ever had an issue with the KK2 board where it turns on and has the white backlight but no text display? What can I do to fix this?

Hi mate if its the kk 2.1.5 the voltage lead just plugs on top if you look at the pins for motor 7 and motor 8 just to the left there is a single pin that says pos , just plug a wire from the + of the power lead for the quad to the pos pin no earth is needed , the display can need to be re-plugged in to board , lots of guys remove the lcd once its set up
