I can't get the quadcopter to respond to the remote. But I can get the motors to work in betaflight using micro usb.

Also no input from remote when in betaflight but gyro works.

 
You don't need a receiver for the motors to spin up in BF... that is just sending a signal from BF to the flight controller. Connecting via USB doesn't touch your Rx. Same thing for the gyro.

I'm not familiar with that Rx though but you might have to change some setting in BF for it to recognize it.
