instead of heat shrink, can i just wrap an arm with electrical tape?

need to replace one of my motors, when i resolder the motor to the ESC, is it ok if i just wrap it with electrical tape instead of using heat shrink? i dont have a heat gun and i never used heatshrink before and feel if its ok i would rather just wrap it with black electrical tape.

Sure, many do.

Heat shrink is easy. I use a lighter in most situations, and a heat gun when shrinking an entire esc, but a lighter would work for that too.

I use a hair dryer - my wife never uses it so she ended up giving it to me... Works great!
