N00b in need of help

Hello all,

I recently picked up my first Quadcopter and am needing some expert advice on it (just dipping my toes in the hobby, I found it in the box complete for $15...so it might be a case of you get what you pay for but, its a start :) ) I have a HuanQi 898B001 2.4g R/C 4-Axis Aircraft (system will not allow me to put a link to the website) and the manual just plain sucks :(. I have having a terrible time getting it to hover and fly with out it seeming to "drop" connection and then drop from the sky lol. The under carriage lights flash continiously when this happens and the only way to get it to accept throttle input is to power cycle the 'copter, controller, then power the controller up, then the 'copter, then pull both sticks down till it beeps and the lights go steady...has anyone ever seen one of these? Also (not nearly as important at this time) I am having issues with the camera that came with it...SD card is almost impossible to mount, and the software that is supposed to allow FPV/control is sketchy at best...If anyone has a clear instruction guide or any other guidance I would be extremely grateful.

Hey, sorry about he link, do to a big increase in spam we (by we I mean Mike did 100% of the work :P) implemented a new feature to limit it. You should be able to post links after your next post.

Not familiar with this model, but it is common for the flashing lights to mean low battery, which would be fixed temporarly by reseting it as the battery will drop in voltage on higher throttle. That would be a simple fix as stopping when the battery gets low.

As for the FPV, most of these Chinese micro quads from an non-reputable brand are sketchy at best for FPV. Might have to limit it to LOS, though there are some nicer camera upgrades to at least record better.

Do you happen to know what file format the SD card is? Also what OS (Windows, Linux, OSX?), an are you using any type of adapter to keep it from mounting?

Hate to hear that, but it seems to be a problem with a lot of them. When I was looking for my first quadcopter in my research I came across this one and in the follow up, discovered that there were many with this problem. Never did find a fix for it either..........
