Newbie advice

Hey,

One advice. Make the thing yourself.

Why: because you will crash a lot in the beginning and as you have made it, it is going to be easy to repair.

What: ZMR 250 frame (Banggood), 12 amp ESC, 1804 2400kv motors, 5 inch props, CC3D flight computer
Buy some wire, a solder kit, XT60 connectors, heat shrink.

Get a Taranis radio with a FrSky receiver.

Rest is following YouTube tutorials...

You are going to have a lot of fun building it and it is a good base to later add FPV stuff...

Hi mate its a lot of money for what it is , sk450 frame is about £11 , i paid £52 for the 4 ESCs flashed with simonk , motors are about £11 each max props £2 for 2 , FCB £42 with gps ,you still need a transmitter , its not even got carbon fibre props a must on FPV really gives a more stable flight I know it has Fat shark FPV transmitter but thats it really
If you want a 450 Hobby king does a PNF 450 quad for £129 ok no gps , so add a wii with gps £42 , and a full FPV set up in a box £62 ,see its a lot less , your still need transmitter and battery if you have not got one
Even if you got all the parts and had it made up for you still wont come to 400 euros which is about £313

Where do you guys purchase from ? Im from ireland so no companies here selling as parts only complete units - importing from hong kong or usa is expensive due to import taxes here

Thanks for your help and advice so far really appreciate it

Hi mate if you buy from hobby king uk warehouse shipping wont be to bad, yes this quad will upgrade you have to replace the kk with a wii with Gps its about £42 all in or the naza m its a lot more about £150 but for that your get return home course lock ,position hold ,height hold , a camera gimbal will mount on the front , your need longer landing legs , Hobby king do a plug and play FPV system its not the top of the range but will for £62 get you flying FPV , other than that if you want to build one we can help you with that too

Thanks mate i took the plunge today and order that one but with radio gear included ! Was only €20 more expensive with transmitter and reciever , ordered the longer legs to allow for camera and a set of carbon fibre props in 10" and 2 x 4000 mah lipo batteries and a charger so hopefully thats the basics covered - next up after christmas will be a gimbal and go pro and definitely want the naza v or m but its big money

Whats this about a wii ?

The kk will run a camera gimbal till you get the naza m , on the lipos charge at C1 which will be 4.0amps,and dont run them below 3.7v a cell as it will damage them , if your not using the batteries for more than a week you must store charge them this will keep the lipos good for a long time , if you look after the lipos they last i have some that are over 2 years old
Wii do a flight board and GPS its ment to be good i have never used it

from reading the various topics i believe that i will have to reflash my controller and possibly the escx4 is that correct ?

Hi mate its up to you a kk2.1.5 hard case is under £20 and the frame look as if it has metal plates top and bottom a flame wheel from hk is £9 so working it out will be just over 60 euros to buy , i would only buy if i plan on using and keeping the kk2.1.5

I just read on another thread you have the kk2.0 , it needs 1.6 firmware as this is the better one , but the kk2.1.5 that that guy has for sale has a much better self level than the kk2.0 , be very careful if you flash the wrong firmware on the board it will brick it , so when your ready tell me what kk you have and i will link you the firmware
