Syma X5SC-1 Broken tooth on motor pinion

Does anyone know if it is possible to replace the pinion (small plastic cog) on the end of the motor spindle, or does the whole motor have to be replaced?

You should be able to replace it - I'd look on Ebay and Amazon, or maybe try Banggood or Gearbest. You can usually find sets that have the pinion and main gears, etc.

It's a very common 9-tooth pinion gear, and either a 1 mm or .8 mm shaft. A little research on the motors should settle the question about the shaft diameter, but I think it's .8

Thanks for your quick response. I haven't pulled the drone apart yet, so do you by any chance know how the pinion is attached to the shaft of the motor? It seems fairly firmly stuck on at first appearance.

Brute force or some side cutters, then press other on, if loose then some super glue it. Just try line teeth up so they all sink in.
