Very new beginner, first quad build assistance needed.

My plans so far:

Frame: DJI Flame Wheel F450
ESC: Q Brain 4 x 20a OR 4 x 25a
Motors(+props): EMAX 2213-935kv and 1045 props
Receiver: OrangeRX R615x
Battery: Perhaps a Turnigy Nano-Tech 3300mah 3s
Flight Control Board: KK2.1 HC

Is there anything in this setup that looks poorly planned? Am I missing anything important or does anything appear miss matched? My quad experience is limited to flying a Blade 180qx (Is a friend of mine's) and this will be my first build.

Also I have a couple questions.

First: The motors I'm finding are named emax and then there are some that have a different appearance but identical specs called MultiStar MT2213-935KV. Are these the same just made by different people?

Second: How big of a battery should I be getting? It appears to me that I have plenty of room as far as weight goes so should I get a much larger battery or will it actually lessen my flight time because of the added weight.

Hi mate battery is good if your going FPV then a 4000/5000mah , i would go with the emax motors well proven motors
Dont forget
blue lock tight
servo link leads to connect receiver to FCB
battery strap

Thanks for the EMAX tip I wasn't sure if there was a big difference performanperformance wise between the 2 brands.

And if I'm not planning for FPV at this time what size should I get for agile/responsive and fun to fly but decent flight time?

Hi 250 is fast used for racing , 450 is quick and good for FPV , 500 and above is easy to see when high up and can be quick , emax motors and agm motors are good and made in the same factory , the battery you are looking at will be great for what you want

Well I've decided to change the ESC to 4 individual Turnigy Plush 25a so that I can flash them with SimonK since that does seem to be pretty important. Also I'm going to buy a Rx/Tx combo since I don't want to spend the money to buy a radio anymore. (I don't already have one) One last question is if the motors will fit. It seems like all the builds on this frame have different motors and I'm worried whether or not these will be adequate or too much.

Hi Chase a 450 flame wheel quad with the motors you are going for will be fast ,my boy has the 450 with 2212 motors which are 1000kv and it fast and will fly for over 10 mins , what rx/tx are you going for not all radios are good ?
You can go for a 10x4.7 prop the extra 0.2 on pitch makes a lot of difference
Simonk flashed ESCs are very stable and smooth ans throttle punch is really good , you can get then already flashed it will save cutting the back open to get to the chip to flash them and the cost of flash tool

Where would I find preflashed (for lack of a better term) ESCs?

And for the transmittor I might go with the $60 turnigy 9x rx/tx combo

Hi mate good radio mate i take it your buying from Hobby king http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/..._Motor_Speed_Controller_SimonK_Firmware_.html
I have the turnigy plush 30amp flashed with simonk ,if you have the flash tool for ESCs its easy to do just cut small hole in the back of heat shrink to get on the chip the tool is this one and its 10 pin so wont fit the other flash tool ,they are hard to find most are 6 pin

this will show you how well the simonk works

Hey sorry for all of my newbie relentless questions... But there are more. ;)

What should my C rating be of my battery? I'm looking at 35-70 is that good?

Also given the fact that I have no extra supplies besides the necessary parts need for flight, what extra stuff should I buy? (wires, screws, etc.)

Thanks, Chase

Hi mate the high c rate will give the quad more punch on the throttle ,but its only a 15 second burst, and yes 35 normal and 70 burst is good , dont forget to charge at 1c ( so if its 2200mah charge at 2.2amps , 4000mah charge at 4.0amps
Blue lock tight ,spare props , spare arms , what i did was buy 2 frames so i had spare plates ,screws and arms

I understand what the C rating is but is it in your opinion enough or is that kinda hard to just know?

Hi i run my 700mm quad with 650kv motors 14x5.5 props on a 3 cell 2200mah 20c 45 burst , so yes my friend it will be man enough

Well, with many thanks to you, I have ordered all my parts at the beginning of this week and should be receiving them in the next couple weeks. (Hopefully at the most) Thanks for all of your help it was much appreciated :)

HI Chase , Please dont take this the wrong way , can you turn motors so wires run down the line of the arm in a crash it will protect the wires.
Once it flys ok tuck the wires in side the frame for protection , But you did a good job for your first build well done

Ok mate I cant remember what board you have if it the kk 2.1.5 with lcd fitted to it house it on top till set up then fit it inside the frame

I have the one in the hard case that has an external programmer so I just put it in the middleand a ribbon cable leads to it and I can detach it after I've programmed it
