VTX Wires Too long ? Too Many splices

Japalura 4" was all happy (sans tuning) when I popped the mini
antennae connection on the VTX . Yes the actual circular mount so I couldn't just pop on another antennae. The VTX is a VTX 03 , I try to keep a few around just in case and replacement antennae. Unfortunately the JST connector to the run cam swift is an odd 1.25 not 1.0 mm and I don't have a ton of those lying around, and for some STOOPID reason the VTX03 ships with a 1.0mm throw not 1.25 the one in place was already piggy backed ( lineman splice) to get her to the camera from the VTX.

So I had to do that again for the replacement and now my smoke stopper screams and lights up when the camera is attached . Solder and heat shrink is all good...

Could the horrible length of the three wires from VTX to camera be a problem? Of course the power and ground ( two more wires ) from the VTX to the FC are also now spliced up since I already had them hot glued to the FC . potential problem as well ?

The length should not really matter as long as it's not excessive. More than a foot. Even then should be ok. But causes other problems.
 
Thanks Stupid how the VTX 01 JSTs only fit the Micro / Nano Run Cam Swift regular Run Cam is throw 1.25mm while the tinys are
1.0mm I really dont want to own crimping gear for JST connectors
 
o_O ... Just replace all those spliced to bejeebers wires with new wire and buy some connectors. They're dirt cheap and you should keep extras anyway.
You don't really need any special gear to crimp them; just used regular pliers but concentrate on keeping it neat and not just smashing it.
A bit of soldering at the pins, where the wire meets it, will help to assure a good connection (if you happen to get ones without wires already in them).
 
Nasty little JST connectors of a million varieties, yea I agree couple of dozen on their way of various sizes, and new VTX I'm just going to use the Micro swift that she fits into without splicing I messed up one VTX 03 already trying to hack this mess together.. I really need jewelers magnifier glasses or a real good magnifier light ,, oh and a new soldering iron (lol)

Since your being helpful are you familiar with ( another quad this time) Betaflight and Omnibus F3 issues with SBUS?

The UART 3 is SBUS but I can't make it save the port settings since thats also the USB port ( I guess) she worked for a hot minute but when I wen to set up channels and modes it lost the Port settings and of course then the SBUS configuration and I can't get her back . I even moved the receiver to UART 1 .. Note I am trying to get UART 2 to use telemetry as well
