Hi
My son loves Drone racing (so do I). He has only seen videos on youtube. I want to get him something to first learn to fly. Any suggestions? I want to make sure it can fly outside as well as inside. I just dont want to spend a lot of money on a build that ends up on a shelf (well atleast when it comes to him). I want him to learn to fly ect and make sure he is willing to put the time in and not a hey this is neat.
Thanks in advance.

jxd 309g or the newer 510g although just the look has changed get started quadcopter with basic fpv and safe for indoor flight my bro just got the syma x5c also good abit cheaper to hope you both enjoy it

I bought a cheap jjrc h8c but if for n side a jjrc 1000a is good for indoors & outdoors. Most toy RTF's don't last long though. Like I say if you gonna break it you may aswell learn how to build & fix it. You can pick up a cheap ZMR250 kit on eBay for about £70 in UK. Then look up RC model reviews or painless 360 on YT. They have build videos. I think it's more rewarding if you build & fly your own stuff. No worries when you crash then. The 2 jjrc h8c I broke cost the same as the kit. It was a no brainer.

I kinda do agree with you there. my JXD 509g was £60 and my 250 quadcopter was £130 and i can at least change parts on it. Saying tha the 509g was alot easier to learn with and it did take a beating

Since I built my own I have not broken anything apart from a ground wire off the home made pdb, because a bolt came loose in mid air. (blue threadlock & longer bolts) The only downer for me now is after building & figuring all different kinda problems out & re modding tidying things up. It's the end of the summer here in UK and we live less than 1k from the shore. So it gets windy and I'll probably learn over the the next few months on the cold still days we get. So now would be the perfect time to get into building one of your own, if it's winter where you are.
I'm crap @ lieing so if people ask did you build that, I just beam back yeah it the poop ain't it. Oh also read the rules on flying or where you can't fly. Get the NOTAM app just to make sure you can back yourself up,or when some know it all tries to spoil your fun.
