More on the Drone threat.

There always seems to be some idiot that takes a good thing and turns it into a bad thing. This all goes back to the 1800's when our enemies were arming the local native Americans with muskets instead of bows and arrows and tomahawks. Now their taking our Quadcopters and turning them into Quadbombers. The quadcopters were supposed to be "fun" flying devices and could carry cameras. Now they'll be outfitted to carry hand grenades. or be packed full of plastique and become an aerial torpedo. How do we protect against that?

The building directly behind me is a Provincial Detention Center. They couldn't figure out why so many inmates were overdosing until they figured out that drones were dropping drugs into the outside exercise area at night. Where there's a will, there's a way

Meh number of rotors doesn't really give a major advantage IMO for military style drones. The extra rotors give us more maneuverability but we trade off in extra weight and reduced range compared with a fixed wing option. Also the US has been using military drones for missile strikes since the predator was released somewhere around 1995. I suppose the navigation systems have become cheaper and more accessible for the average joe and that might be more of an issue but associating this with quadcopters is a bit silly. Also regarding swarms and attacks on base I find it hard to believe you can't use radar or just setup a perimeter of receivers to know if someone is in the area.

There's no boot button if you mess up with that plastique.
Not even fingerprints
Just don't put the bombs arm button on the quads arm button.
Nyuck nyuck nyuck

So if amazon get the rights to our airwaves. How many would break the law and just do what you do. I'd certainly stick it to a porker if it was going that way, telling him I was hear before amazon.
I think then after my first stint in the old royal mail;);) I would develop some sort of radio or even mobile radio cannon and jus hunt down amazon drones.
Big boxes in the sky like Mario World ripe for the picking.
In fact I emplore every disgruntled hobbyist to take this up and show them if it's a no go for me then its Christmas everyday for us. Oops did I just say CHRISTMAS :p I meant Black Friday, darn it

It's unpatented besides I'm sending signals to other planets in the hope of telling them our plight. If an amazon drone accidently gets in the way of my new hobby then tough dodoo.

We can't deny the fact that the first concept before the evolution of drone is from our dearly US Army and it is good because it helps us maintain the security of our country.

Not the same type of drone though, or are they. Besides the army come up with nothing they steal confiscate commandeer from civilian projects.
We had 30mph winds here the weekend so couldn't get out. But watched some YouTube. Got into some vids of Ralph king
Who worked for government R&D.
He had a major breakthrough in a small project he was on. He was told to go back as they are in the game of looking for problems not fixing them. Wasting untold money. Obviously some projects they wanted an outcome but because he was inventing things that went against the monetary system. In other words free energy They and a few others where stopped and had stuff confiscated.
Im not saying ppl in the forces or government are stupid, far from it but scientists don't tend to join these.
But end up being hijacked.
Operation paperclip anyone.

Up & down, classic case of mental instability. On the list, off the list.
Or it was wrote in pencil, hard and cannot be rubbed out. It left an in print.
It's there forever or not whatever way you look at it. I'd prefer to be on it myself, at least someone knows I'm here. :(

Ow yeah you are

Yeah mixed bag with military efforts, definitely the cold war and space race led to development of transistor based circuits that led to basically all the modern CPU tech we all have access to now, but hard to say how much is lost/gained overall dedicating great minds to developing arms and defense (not to mention all the overhead/loss of efficiency when gov't handles any task).

One good outcome from WWII was Von Braun being captured by the Americans. If it weren't for that happening the USA would not have been the first on the Moon.
First on whato_O
I'm not going through this again:p
I looked into Tor pressure and science says they didn't go. To the moon:eek:.
Low earth orbit is about it.
They didn't get through all that radiation in a box of tin foil. And all the evidence that says otherwise. Kubrick admitted so.
Unless what they showed us was fake and the real business was never shown.
