Can't connect to BetaFlight 3.1.7

For the life of me I can't figure this one out. Built a new Martian 22o used a Omnibus F4 v1 FC -flashed with BetaFlight 3.1.7 . Configured it fine, went flying a few packs, flew great just wanted to tweek a couple things, went and plugged it in > no connection to FC, it was connecting using comm 6 now it's dead, will not connect, it still flies, if I use a 3S battery > no problems, use a 4S battery 1st pack all good, 2nd pack putting thru the paces about 2 minutes flying it just falls out of the sky. It's almost like something is heating up when punched and disconnects. Bring it back use new 4S and the same thing happens @ around 2 minutes in, tried fresh pack and flew non aggressive, easy in the throttle and had no problem, this is the first time I used DShot 600, any sugesstions?

Are the motors & esc's rated for 4s, are they compatible with Dshot. Maybe you blew a fet. Go back to multishot. Spikes from the esc's can blow stuff out. As things are heating it may cause the fcb to disarm because of signal loss from the tx.
I don't envy you with this problem. RF is a nightmare. Are your esc's rated for the motors, high KV motors require high KV esc's. I will try my pocket rocket with 1106- 6000kv motors but I don't expect em to last long. Gonna try a 20a 4in1 with a Piko blx & separate pdb for 3s. On a 130 frame.

Here is my parts list Oh Ya this thing should stand up, I think maybe the FC is running hot with the 4S ( maybe a faulty board ), 3S flies perfect, no signal drop thru 5 packs.

-Martian 220 CF frame with 4mm arms

-Omnibus F4 v1 FC -flashed with BetaFlight 3.1.7

-Racerstar 2205 2300kv v2 motors (soft mounted)

-Racerstar 28a BLHeli_S dshot600 ESCs -flashed with latest BLHeli_S

-DYS 200mw VTX

-Foxeer HS1177 FPV cam with 2.3mm lens

-Foxeer RHCP FPV Antenna

-LC filter -RTFQ

-XM+ Frsky RX

Nice list, should all work fine. Have you added any resistors to help with the spikes off the esc's you should have at least one. only one on this as it's a 180. But you should really have one for each esc. But I don't have any problems. IMG_20170621_225309292-768x1367.jpg

Thanks for the info, no resistors installed, will dig into it when I get a chance to break her down, Thanks.

It is odd that once upon a time it seemed all ESCs had capacitors.

Those simonk esc's in the picture above where the first bricks I bought.
Worked OK but big & heavy. Never could figure out how you update them.
