FLYSKI FS IA6 and IA6B- what's the difference?

New guy here..
So maybe some of you have read my posts about me losing my brand new Eachine Racer 250 by being stupid. Well moving alone and getting totally sucked into this hobby, I ordered a replacement quad and the receiver Flysky FS-1A6 which appears to match the one I lost that comes on the Racer 250 RTF version. Well waiting and waiting, until I couldn't wait no more I ordered second Racer 250, paid a fair amount more and also ordered the Flysky FS-1A6B because I could get it sooner. I have these parts and have started to research hooking up the receiver. The Ia6B has a different harness and as I try to figure out why along with figuring out my first binding procedure, I was wondering what the difference is in these to RX units. My hope is that I will get them both to bind to my Eachine I6 TX.

Any info or knowledge people are willing to give would be welcome. Thanks.

What does that mean? You got a harness with it? You'll have a tough time getting the larger i6B in the racer.

Hi Jackson. :) Excuse my "noobtalk" If Im saying things wrong or not being clear. I got the Racer 250 ARF version and with it came a bag full of harnesses. I recall the original IA6 rx having all black wires in one connector (8 terminals) and a little ( two wire black wire) harness with an adapter that plugs into the rx. The ARF came with those harnesses and the adapter plug that fits the IA6. It also came with a 8 wire that individual colored wires and two small 4 pin colored harnesses and another one. It appears the 8 pin colored harness will work for the IA6B. Right now Im having issue finding how to wire it because its not as straight forward as the all black wires and adaptor for the IA6.

Also, I figure that after I move the VTX to the rear and put the battery on top I can mount the controller RX in the place where the VTX was.

For some reason I can't see the vid. Basically you need to power the RX with 4-6.5V.

Many use something like this, it holds 4 AA cells.

I have one like that (with a JST connector soldered on) that I use to charge NiMHs.

The procedure is simple.

You should also be able to power the RX by plugging one of the 3 wire ESC cables ( if they have BECs) directly into the RX.

Thanks Jackson. So I got power off the quad and hooked it up to the other side with the 2 wire circuit thst came with the quad. In the video it looks like power is the botton pin and ground is the middle pin. I tested the voltage with a multimeter and it was 4.2 volts. Hooked the bind plug and hooked up the power and No LED light came on so I think i have a faulty rx

In the mean time I purchased a Radiolink AT9. I hope it comes with directions because it seems most of this stuff does not. On the plus side, im being forced to learn a lot and getting a crash course in the world of quads.

Are you talking about the bind plug?

That is incorrect. Power will always be at the center pin.

I will try that. I'm trying to watch videos and its very hard to tell. I have the binding plug correct on one end. Then I'm using a different two wire/ two connecter to get power off the quad to the rx.
On the IA6B the pins are horizontal. (On the IA6 they are vertical) So on the IA6B looking into the connector, I have the binding plug on the right side and the power/ground harness on the far left side. I think I tried power in the middle and ground on the bottom but I will try it again. I'm also wondering if the "Bind" button on the Eachine I6 transmitter is locked since the whole menu "OK" button is locked. But first I need to see the LED light on the rx.

You should unlock it so you can use all the features of the radio. Push the two bottom trims towards the center and hold them there, then turn ON the transmitter. Now try accessing the menu.

Yes, i did find out how to do that. Kind of a pain because it locks everytime its shut off.'

For the IA6B I tried power to the middle pin and ground to the bottom pin. Still no LED. Im going to return this transmittter. The good news is my other transmitter IA6 is supposed to arrive tomorrow so i can try to bind that one. If Banggood ever sends me my other 250, i can use the At9 on that one. Im thinking of getting goggles for that set up or trying to make a ground station and use a bigger monitor. If i have two quads then I will always have one working so I can keep flying (hopefully). :)

Also, you mentioned something about the failsafe in my other thread titled "Im an idiot" . i saw a video of a guy demonstrating that the eachine racer 250 rtf is not set with failsafe. So the quad I lost most likely flew miles away until the battery died. Explains why i never found it after hrs and days of searching.
