I have many ?'s . im new to the quadcopter gang. I am currently looking to buy a s500 quad frame and wanna do me up a full copter so can put what i want in it .. now ive looked at tons of stuff but i see that it requires at least 920 kv motor or above and needs to be 2212 style but i dont know if can get others or what .. now im going to buy 30amp esc's and does it matter the brand because they all seem to be the same lol .. now on to the fun part im looking at the multiwii flight controller combo .. because i want to have gps and gimball controls on my quad.. and next the props .. im stumpedbecause every website tells me different stuff on what to use and my guess is due to size of motors and what not thanks in advance .. please keep comments nice !!!

Welcome to the sick bay, it appears you have caught the virus! I am afraid that once you get it there is no getting rid of it, you'll be stuck in RC.

Lower KV motors run bigger props, which gives you more thrust. Most ESCs are fine, just look at the reviews, because bad quality can burn motors out, or they can fail mid-fight and cause a crash. As for gimbals controls many people use two Transmitters connecter together with a trainer cable, or two separate transmitters and receiver sets.

Look at this link, it has a list of common flight controllers. It also list their features.

Thaks for the info .. im still stuck on motors and props for this quad .. just need a starting point .. seems 2212 920-980 motor and 1045 props .. im torn also between flight controls stil but im almost going multiwii pro or apm or cruis all in one .. thnaks Will G

Muti wii has a bigger user base if you have problems, but they are both based off from Arduino, so they are very similar. Like Ubuntu vs Debian. What size is your frame?

You may will want a second opinion, but here is a nice looking quadcopter for ~$450.
I have never bought/seen this quadcopter, so I don't know anymore than what is shows on the link.

Hi mate your be good with the frame flame wheels are good tough frames , now do you want speed or flight times with a camera

i wanna just have fun with camera gimbals and just need to know what motors and speedos need but im sure im pretty close .. but im looking at multiwii pro flight control and gps .. it says it supports 2 gimbal controls .. so far not too bad and in my price range

Hi if you go low KV big props longer flight times low kv is below 700 kv, high KV small props , on a 500 frame I would go 650 to 1000 motor and depends on what motor will tell you what prop you need , Right this is a hobby king frame will be cheaper from them here is the link

I had to go to them as I need to know what mount hole it has for the motors ok found it these motors will fit and are very nice

Now get the 10x4.7 props carbon fibre will be best but to keep cost down if your going over get nylon for now
Run this on a 3cell set up 3300mah min
as for FCB yes multiwii is good

ITs a 3D FCB may be a little harder to fly some 3D boards cant be tamed enough for a newbie to fly , If you had the money I would tell you to get the DJI NazaM with GPS really nice unit
As for the gimbal its really easy to power from the main battery leads so dont worry its easy

Ok understand .. i wish i had the moneys for naza but i know that theres good ones out there .. ill prob just get the multiwill pro and start there .. can always upgrade :) .. so do i really need case for it or just get a gps holder and be happy ?

Well I looked I cant find one so dont worry , I just didnt like the little cell battery just sitting there , may be get a little plastic tub to pop it in it will protect it
