I'm very interested in drones and nows my time to get one. What drones would you recommend to a new starter for under £500.

I have been looking at the Parrot bepop 2 and it looks great, what would you say?

A Hubsan X4. It's small and doesn't cost a lot. It's a good beginning and you can fly it anywhere. It's small enough to fly indoors, to drive your pets crazy (and your wife, if you have one of those too).

I would recommend you build one. It's cheap. It's more interesting. And if you are really interested then you will want to know how it works(what better way to do that than making it work yourself). Buy some components and build an F450 (It's easy to build compared to race quads). Have Fun.

See, that's where I differ, I have trouble putting together a Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich, let alone assembling a Quadcopter. Some of us may be talented, while others just have money!

I haven't seen much feedback on the S6, but the M5 has been hit-and-miss in terms of quality. For the price, you're in the neighborhood of what you will spend on a DJI Spark. A Parrot Bebop 2 is also an option in that price range, as is the Hubsan H501S. Definitely go read/watch some reviews on all the options.

None of the ones I mentioned offer 4K video, but unless you have some real horsepower in your PC, you aren't going to be very able to process 4K video, anyway. And for most of us whose cinematic output is going on YouTube, 1080p is plenty good enough.
