Newbie - Buying first real drone

Hello everyone! My name is Sean and I am new around here. I've have a few "toy" quads and I've out grown them so I am looking at something a little more serious. Thought about going the build route but since my soldering skills are that great I figured I would go something already built. I decided on the Eachine Wizard x220. I've ordered the ARF kit and now I'm looking at transmitters. Was looking at the Taranis but thinking about going a different route after watching some video reviews on it. So now I am looking at the Spektrum DX8.

What are ya'll options on this radio? Also, do I just need to get a receiver like the AR8000 and put that in the quad to fly? I feel like there is this huge disconnect or learning curve between the toy level and getting into the serious stuff. Anywho, nice to meet everyone and thank you for the help!

Hi mate I have 2 spektrums the DX6i and the DX9 love the DX9 easy to set up and with voice telling you whats going on so no need to look down at it when flying
and receiver 4 channels and over will be good you can use the extra channels to turn on lights on the quad just remember when you set up the model its AERO with no mixing

Careful. There's evidence that people have developed an unhealthy romantic attachment to "the voice". Similar instances have also been reported with the X9D, although scientifically unsubstantiated
