You can skip the story, just trying to excuse my insanity. Question at the bottom.

/*
* I went on a shopping spree and bought my son a remote control car. Fortunately (because I spent
* too much) it wouldn't work, no idea why. I took it back.
* My wife did not want me to get another one. She thinks it's not a good idea to promote
* development because he's only 4. She has no idea I'm going to turn him into a professional
* gamer when he figures out how to use the mouse.
* So I took it upon myself to make him a remote control car. I spent $3 at Good Will. I pulled out
* the motors, battery and steering servo (which I gave to the guy in line behind me buying a boat
* just so he could pull out the same parts). Here's a photo of the end result. My son loves it... for
* now, but I'm a little irritated that I couldn't get it to turn much at all with only two props.
*/

Does anyone have an idea on how to get the forward props to activate only when I want to turn?
I tried re-calibrating the gyros (which I'm pretty sure are on the board) at different angles, but I'm going to need someone better educated to figure this one out.

I think you will need to re-do the firmware or some such to put the steering inputs on seperate channels.....or some such. Something I can't see if it is possible from the pic you provided. You'll need to see if you have a USB-mini port on the board. The main problem is that the gyros are attempting to provide input based on a quad copter layout. Which means all 4 motors working together for the desired action. One thing that might work with out changing your firmware/programming.........is to align the front motors the same as the back motors. Then the configuration would have some resemblance to a quad layout and you would only need to figure out which actions will actually turn your car.
