Storm D6 problems

Hello Team I'm hoping I can find some help here... two weeks ago I received my Storm Drone6 from Helipal.com and I have still not been able to fly it. when I power on the Naza LED blinks out a series of red yellow and green lights then blinks a red strobe and nothing happens when I unlock the throttle on the Devo7 remote. thus far Ive rebound the remote to the controller, calibrated the compass, connected to the naza software and tested the motors (they turn), verified all the settings on the remote are correct. The engineers at helipal have been very helpful in suggesting possible causes but after two weeks of back and forth emails im ready to ask for help.

Hi mate any red light on a naza is a warning , what you have is the Phantom FCB so the LEDs will flash the same as this will , here is a video made by DJI take a look and see if the light flashes are the same as what you have , we can then work from that , It sounds like it is not getting a GPS lock

Very helpful vid. They didn't show the way mine is blinking. It's a steady red flash about 1 every second. At first we thought it was a low battery but I now have a battery meter which shows 12.4v.

Ok if its red green red green its 5 GPS locks and would like 7 GPS locks , move the quad about 10 feet and re start it do the compass calibration then leave it alone wait it will flash 4 green fast then slow green if there is a red wait, it some time takes 3 /4 mins to get a signal if in a bad location
if you cant get all green move it again or go some where else to fly , if it does not have full GPS lock not all the systems will work and failsafe will not work and you can have a fly away it is important to get this part right

Hi it does have a 2 stage Red once you get the full GPS lock so no reds at all, when you get a single red once every other sec or so its first stage battery warning , then when you get red every sec this is second stage you need to land soon or it will land its self trust me it does land all on its own

I moved locations twice recalibrated both times. Battery reads 12.4v. And after power up lights flash it goes to the bright flashing red once a second left it blinking for 10 mins at each place.

Can you try taking to another location if it still does it Get back to where you got it from and ask for a replacement , I know In my yard i have to put it right to back of yard to get GPS fix, if I then fly near my house I get a red flash if I go back to the take off point the red goes so it GPS signal is bad , but if you can never get a full GPS lock its faulty must be as you must be able to get a GPS lock some where in your country
If I go tomy park it about 1 mile from my house I get GPS lock in 10 seconds of calibration
being done ,you must have a GPS dome check connections make sure the plug is in right

Thanks for your help. I'll try that again. Further away. I've been working with helipal but they think the remote is bad. I've double checked all the remote settings and checked the inputs with the naza software. I'm not convinced the remote will fix it and have this for two weeks without flying is killing me.

Hi mate I feel it the GPS unit that the problem , the Naza loves 7 sats this give it all the info it needs ,this is needed for position hold ,height hold , return and land , course lock , home lock , this is why its important to work right , If you dont get help for helipal would contact DJI support on there web site , But ask for a new GPS unit to try is helipal near you can you take it to them and wait with it

Lol they are in Hong Kong. And it takes about 24 hrs to get an email reply. Is there a way to bypass gps for the sake of eliminating or confirming it as the culprit? May try still try dji.

You can unplug it but your not have many functions , but you may get all green and no red , so may be worth a try but dont fly unless you can fly in manual mode
When you turn on the transmitter you do have the switch to GPS and cCL/HL switch to off

Tried another part of town with plenty of open sky and no trees. Same blinking red led. Emailed dji I hope they can get me airborne soon. Thanks for the help

I got another email from helipal I told them everything checked out with the controls and inputs as well as calibrated but they decided to send me a new devo7. I'll check back in when that doesn't fix it.

I received the new remote today from Helipal in Hong . After I performed the binding everything started working. I get a gps lock and it flies. Thanks for the insight and assistance. I would never have believed the remote was bad especially after I checked the calibration on the naza software. Thanks again I know if I get stuck again I know I can call on this forum for answers.

Hi mate I am glad your sorted , I would not had looked at the devo as a problem but it just shows you , have fun flying

Ok been flying really nice for a week or so now but I took a nose dive yesterday on a take off then tried again and it flew crazy. It almost hit me and then dove straight in the ground from about 3 feet. I never had any warning LEDs the naza light still flashes green but m5 and m6 won't turn. I checked the software and all the motors turn except those two. I verified the wires are all plugged in to the CPU and traced them back to the esc's nothing cut and the motors don't seem to have any resistance when I turn them by hand. Any ideas???

I just noticed the LEDs on the 2 non working arms are not on. I'm not sure what this means but I think it's telling me the motors and esc's are still good. Gonna pull the top plate off and dig a little
